Pink Floyd mark 50 years of “Wish You Were Here” with new music video

Fifty years after releasing their classic song “Wish You Were Here,” Pink Floyd have finally unveiled an official music video for the iconic track.

Because the song arrived well before the launch of MTV, it never received a proper music video at the time. That changes now, with the newly released clip arriving alongside a 50th anniversary deluxe edition of the band’s 1975 album Wish You Were Here.

The video (watch below) blends newly created animation with studio footage and archival clips of the band. The anniversary reissue has also pushed Wish You Were Here back to No. 1 on the UK albums chart—more than five decades after it first topped the list—breaking a long-standing record previously held by the Beatles’ Abbey Road.
