Power Snatch surprise releases 'EP2'

Power Snatch, the duo of Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams and frequent collaborator Daniel James, have returned with a surprise new release. The pair dropped EP2, a four-track collection that marks their latest outing as the shape-shifting project.

Released Wednesday via Bandcamp, EP2 features "Machete," "New Legs," "Born Dead," and "Hell Is a Highway." Across the four tracks, Power Snatch lean into a hazy strain of Nineties alt-rock, pairing Williams' unmistakable vocals with dreamy, discordant instrumentation and lyrics that carry plenty of weight.

The surprise release arrived with an equally surreal visual. To accompany "Machete," the band shared a clip from René Laloux's 1973 animated sci-fi film Fantastic Planet, adding an appropriately otherworldly backdrop to the EP's lead track.
