Amyl & The Sniffers make it up to fans with drinks after show cancellation

Amyl and the Sniffers were set to play a free, all-ages show at Melbourne’s Fed Square today (11/14), but the performance was canceled just before they were due on stage. Organizers cited “multiple breaches of the perimeter fences” that created a high risk of crowd crushes, making it unsafe to continue. “We did not take this decision lightly and are deeply sorry for the disappointment caused,” the statement read. “Our sincere apologies to the band and their fans.”
The band also shared a video inviting fans to enjoy a drink on them, covering $5,000 in bar tabs at several local spots: The Tote, Last Chance Rock N Roll Bar, The Labour in Vain Hotel, Hell’s Kitchen, The John Curtin Hotel, Cherry Bar, and The Old Bar. “Just have some fun tonight,” they say.
