With their highly anticipated new album God Save the Gun on the way, Militarie Gun have just dropped its third single, “Throw Me Away.” The track leans into a catchy, '90s-inspired alt-rock sound, packed with energy and hooks. Frontman Ian Shelton describes it as “about the feeling of only being valued when you’re visible or useful—and the desperate urge to cling to that. What someone admires in you one day might become the thing they use against you the next. It’s about craving external validation, while also deeply resenting it.”
The accompanying video—directed by Shelton himself—can be watched below.
Militarie Gun are also hitting the road soon with an extensive run of tour dates. They’ll play an intimate, already-sold-out show at Alphaville in Brooklyn on September 18, just ahead of their appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago. From there, they’ll head out on tour—first with Death Lens and Milly, and later with Liquid Mike and Public Opinion.
