Mitski has shared a video for her new single, “The Only Heartbreaker.”
The track comes from her newly announces sixth album, Laurel Hell, out via Dead Oceans. “The Only Heartbreaker” is a percussion-driven tune with shimmering synths and bright melodies. At the chorus, the track explodes into a dance-worthy anthem.
The accompanying video for “The Only Heartbreaker” opens with Mitski walking through a bright forest. Everywhere she steps, she spreads fire and burns down the greenery.

Last month, Mitski made her return with “Working for the Knife.”
The song comes packed with eerie, almost mechanical instrumentals. “Working for the Knife” revolves around Mitski’s stunning vocal lines. It perfectly balances gloomy, dark sounds with bright synths. In fact, it feels like it could come right off of her most recent album, Be The Cowboy. Lyrically, Mitski sings of the disheartening process of chasing your dreams.
