Florence + The Machine delivered a pretty rare performance of “Never Let Me Go” at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival.
Frontwoman Florence Welch hasn’t performed the famous Ceremonials ballad in almost a decade. Now, she’s delivered a stunning rendition of the moving track. Speaking to the crowd at the festival, she explains that she wrote “Never Let Me Go” “after a heavy, heavy hangover.”
“For years, this song was very difficult for me to perform,” she adds. “But you’ve all been so kind to me this evening, and have given me everything, so you deserve it.”
