HAIM share Paul Thomas Anderson-directed visual for ‘off the cuff’ new song ‘Lost Track’

Sister trio HAIM are back with a video for their new single, “Lost Track.”

The new song was previewed during select screenings of Paul Thomas Anderson’s new coming-of-age film, Licorice Pizza, which stars Alana Haim. The song was inspired by the 1934 John O’Hara novel, Appointment in Samarra. “Lost Track” comes accompanied by a video, also directed by Anderson, which sees the trio heading to a country club dance. On Instagram, Haim explain the line “I’ll never get back what I lost track of.”

“We had that line written for the last year but could never figure out what to do with it,” HAIM say. “We kept writing it down, not knowing where it should live. Cut to PTA shooting the director’s cut issue for @wmag with our baby sister on the cover! An opportunity arose to do a quick music component while shooting the story.”
