Slipknot have confirmed the departure of turntablist Sid Wilson, two weeks after TMZ first reported that the longtime member had been fired from the band.

In a statement posted to Slipknot's social media Friday evening, the band announced, "Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors." The post was later removed from the band's social accounts, though the same message remains on the official Knotfest Instagram as of this writing.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998, becoming a fixture of the band's original lineup and remaining with the group for more than 25 years. His departure makes him the latest longtime member to leave Slipknot in recent years, following percussionist Chris Fehn's exit in 2019 and sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones' departure in 2023.

Neither Slipknot nor Wilson has offered additional details about the circumstances surrounding his exit.
