St. Vincent covers Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ on ‘Colbert’

St. Vincent has been taking part in a week-long residency on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she covered Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” with in-house band Stay Human.

Alongside Stay Human, St. Vincent took “Dreams” and turned it into a groovy, horn-laden anthem. Where the original tune is a folksy ballad, St. Vincent’s rendition is more of a dance-worthy, easy listening jazz song. Lyrically, she delivers famous lines like, “Thunder only happens when it’s raining/ Players only love you when they’re playing/ Say, women, they will come and they will go/ When the rain washes you clean, you’ll know.”

St. Vincent’s residency on The Late Show, where she’s covered “Dreams,” is set to be the first of many. In fact, James Taylor and the Eagles’ Joe Walsh each have their own five-day residency on the horizon.
